Semi-Permanent Makeup in London: One-Day Pop-Up at The Glow Bar.
We’re excited to welcome professional makeup artist and semi-permanent makeup specialist Donna to The Glow Bar LDN for an exclusive, one-day pop-up on Wednesday 5th August.
Donna will be offering a limited number of appointments for powder brows, lip blush and semi-permanent eyeliner, giving clients the opportunity to enhance their natural features and make their everyday beauty routine a little more effortless.
Whether you want softly defined brows, a natural flush of lip colour or subtle definition around the eyes, each treatment will be personalised to your features, colouring and preferred finish.
Meet Donna

Donna is a London-based professional makeup artist and trained semi-permanent makeup technician with more than 15 years of experience in the beauty industry.
Her professional makeup career has included editorial work, weddings, events and male grooming across the UK and Europe. This extensive understanding of facial structure, colour and makeup placement now informs her approach to semi-permanent makeup.
Donna’s style is centred around enhancing rather than overpowering your natural features. Every shape, shade and finish is carefully considered so that the final result feels personal, balanced and wearable.
What Is Semi-Permanent Makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup, also known as cosmetic tattooing or micro-pigmentation, involves placing specialist pigment into the upper layers of the skin to create longer-lasting colour and definition.
Unlike conventional makeup, the results do not wash off at the end of the day. However, they gradually fade over time as the pigment breaks down and the skin naturally renews itself.
The aim is not necessarily to create a heavily “made-up” appearance. Modern semi-permanent makeup can be used to produce soft, natural-looking results that subtly enhance the brows, lips or lash line.
During Donna’s pop-up at The Glow Bar, clients can book one of three treatments:
Powder Brows
Powder brows use cosmetic tattooing to create softly shaded, fuller-looking eyebrows. The finished result can range from light and natural to more polished and defined, depending on your preferences.
This treatment may be particularly helpful for anyone with sparse or uneven brows, those who regularly fill their brows in with makeup or anyone wanting a more consistent shape. Donna will map and design the brows around your facial features before beginning the treatment, allowing you to review the proposed shape.
Appointment time: Approximately two hours
Price: £350
Expected longevity: Up to two years, although results vary between clients.
Lip Blush

Lip blush is a form of semi-permanent lip colour designed to enhance the natural shape, tone and definition of the lips.
It can help create a more even-looking lip colour, improve the appearance of the border and add a soft flush without producing the heavy appearance of traditional lipstick. The pigment is selected with your natural colouring and preferred result in mind.
Immediately after the treatment, the lips will usually appear brighter and more intense than the eventual healed result. The colour softens as the lips heal.
Appointment time: Approximately two hours
Price: £350
Expected longevity: Up to three years, depending on the individual and their lifestyle.
Semi-Permanent Eyeliner
Semi-permanent eyeliner places pigment along the lash line to create lasting definition around the eyes. The treatment can be kept very subtle, creating the appearance of a fuller and more defined lash line, or made slightly more noticeable depending on your desired result and suitability.
It is ideal for anyone who wears eyeliner regularly, struggles to create an even line or simply wants their eyes to look more defined without applying makeup every morning.
Appointment time: Approximately 90 minutes
Price: £200
Expected longevity: Up to three years, although fading will vary.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your appointment will begin with a consultation. Donna will discuss the look you want to achieve, assess the treatment area and explain the most suitable shape, placement and pigment options.
For brow and lip treatments, the proposed shape will be mapped or drawn before the procedure begins. You will have the opportunity to review this before any pigment is applied. A topical numbing product may be used where appropriate to help manage discomfort. The pigment is then gradually implanted using specialist equipment.
Some tenderness, redness or swelling immediately afterwards can be normal. Brows, lips and eyeliner may also initially look darker, brighter or more defined than expected. This is part of the healing process, and the colour will soften as the area settles.
A follow-up or colour-boost appointment may be recommended once the initial treatment has fully healed. Donna will confirm what is included and appropriate for your chosen service.
How to Prepare for Semi-Permanent Makeup
Preparation can differ depending on the treatment and your individual circumstances. Donna will provide the definitive instructions for your appointment, but general preparation may include:
Avoiding alcohol for at least 24 hours before the treatment, as it can increase sensitivity and bleeding.
Limiting excessive caffeine on the day of your appointment.
Avoiding exfoliating acids, retinoids and strong active skincare around the treatment area in the days beforehand.
Avoiding waxing, tinting, threading or intensive facial treatments immediately before a brow appointment.
Arriving without makeup on the treatment area wherever possible.
Avoiding lip treatments when the lips are cracked, irritated or actively inflamed.
Removing lash extensions before semi-permanent eyeliner when requested.
**You should tell Donna in advance about any medical conditions, allergies, medications, recent procedures or previous cosmetic tattooing. Certain circumstances may mean that the treatment needs to be postponed or that medical clearance is required.
Semi-Permanent Makeup Aftercare
Correct aftercare plays an important role in how the pigment heals and how the final result develops.
Donna will give you treatment-specific instructions, which should always take priority over general online advice. Typical recommendations may include keeping the area clean and dry, using only the aftercare products provided or approved by your technician and avoiding touching, rubbing or picking the skin.
The treatment area may become dry, flaky or lightly scabbed as it heals. Let this shed naturally. Picking can remove pigment and increase the risk of uneven healing or scarring.
During the initial healing period, you may also be advised to avoid:
Swimming, saunas and steam rooms
Heavy exercise and excessive sweating
Direct sun exposure and tanning
Makeup and active skincare on the treated area
Facials, peels and other treatments close to the area
Once fully healed, protecting the area from prolonged sun exposure can help reduce premature fading.
Is Semi-Permanent Makeup Right for You?
Semi-permanent makeup may be a good option for clients who want to:
Spend less time applying makeup each morning
Add shape or fullness to sparse brows
Create more consistent lip colour and definition
Enhance the lash line without daily eyeliner
Achieve a polished but natural-looking result
The best results begin with realistic expectations and a thorough consultation. Semi-permanent makeup is designed to fade, and maintenance appointments will eventually be needed to refresh the colour.
