iS Clinical Facials at The Glow Bar: Which One is Right for Your Skin?

We're so excited to now offer two of iS Clinical's most celebrated professional treatments at The Glow Bar: the legendary Fire & Ice Resurfacing Facial and the deeply nourishing Honey Enzyme Facial.

First: Why iS Clinical?

iS Clinical is an American clinical skincare brand founded by scientists and clinicians. Their formulations use pharmaceutical-grade active ingredients at clinical concentrations — which is why their professional treatments deliver results you can actually see, not just feel. They're a brand I trust to the standard I hold for everything we offer at The Glow Bar. Both treatments use dual-masque protocols and are zero downtime.

Find Your Facial: Which Skin Concern Do You Recognise?

If your skin is dull, congested, uneven, or showing early signs of ageing → Fire & Ice

The Fire & Ice Resurfacing Facial is designed for you. The resurfacing action clears dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and stimulates circulation — leaving skin visibly smoother and more refined from the first session. It bridges the gap between a mild facial and a more intensive peel, delivering dramatic results without significant downtime.

If your skin is dry, sensitive, or dehydrated → Honey Enzyme

The Honey Enzyme Facial is your treatment. It's a gentle, deeply hydrating ritual that revives parched, tired skin. The enzyme exfoliation is mild enough for even sensitive skin types — and the results are genuinely luminous. It includes a face, neck, and décolletage massage.

50 minutes | £120.

If you're pregnant or nursing → Honey Enzyme

The Honey Enzyme is our recommended facial during pregnancy. It uses gentle enzyme-based exfoliation and deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory ingredients rather than the stronger resurfacing acids in the Fire & Ice formula. iS Clinical advise consulting your physician before treatment if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing — and we always apply this guidance at The Glow Bar. Please tell us at the time of booking.

If you want the best glow for a big event → Fire & Ice

The Fire & Ice is famously known as the 'red carpet facial' — used by celebrities before awards shows for its ability to deliver an immediate, camera-ready glow. Book 48–72 hours before your event for maximum results. The Honey Enzyme can be done the day before for a gentler, hydrated glow.

The Fire & Ice Facial — In Depth

The Fire & Ice treatment has been covered by Vogue and Cosmopolitan and remains one of the most requested professional facials in the world. It uses a carefully sequenced two-masque protocol.

  • Stage 1 — The Fire (Intensive Resurfacing Masque): A warming masque containing sugarcane-derived glycolic acid, lactic acid, and citrus extracts. This produces deep, even exfoliation — unclogging pores, dissolving dead skin cells, and stimulating circulation. You'll feel a gentle warming sensation.

  • Stage 2 — The Ice (Rejuvenating & Hydrating Masque): A cooling masque containing hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, rosemary, and peppermint. This soothes, hydrates, and delivers powerful antioxidant protection to freshly resurfaced skin. The contrast with the warming stage is immediate — cooling, calming, deeply refreshing.

After treatment, skin will feel smoother, look brighter, and have noticeably refined pores. There is no peeling, no recovery period, and no downtime. Most of our City clients book this during their lunch hour and return to the office feeling — and looking — noticeably refreshed.

The Honey Enzyme Facial — In Depth

Where Fire & Ice resurfaces, the Honey Enzyme revives. For clients whose skin is depleted, sensitised, or craving deep nourishment, this three-stage treatment is extraordinary.

  • Stage 1 — Tri-Active Exfoliating Masque: Gently dissolves dead skin cells using enzymatic (not chemical) exfoliation. Instantly smooths, refines pore appearance, and visibly improves mild signs of ageing. Gentle enough for reactive skin.

  • Stage 2 — Hydra-Intensive Cooling Masque: Delivers deep, lasting hydration with soothing botanical antioxidants. Creates a cool, refreshing sensation that calms any post-exfoliation warmth and floods the skin with moisture.

  • Stage 3 — Face, Neck & Décolletage Massage: The Honey Enzyme is the only iS Clinical treatment to include a full massage as part of the protocol. This stimulates blood flow and lymphatic drainage, reduces puffiness, and promotes cell regeneration — making it as much a relaxation experience as a skin treatment.

Can You Have Both?

Yes — and many clients do. A popular approach is to start with the Honey Enzyme to restore and hydrate the skin, then progress to Fire & Ice once the barrier is strengthened and the skin can tolerate more active resurfacing. Alternating treatments across visits is also something I recommend for clients wanting to address both texture concerns and dehydration over time.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do the results last?

Both treatments deliver immediate results. For progressive skin improvement, we recommend a course of monthly treatments. Results from a single session typically remain visible for two to four weeks depending on your skin type and routine.

Can I wear makeup after treatment?

After Fire & Ice, we recommend waiting until the following morning to apply makeup. After Honey Enzyme, you can apply mineral makeup the same day if needed.

I've never had a professional facial before — which should I start with?

We usually recommend the Honey Enzyme as a first-time facial. It's gentle, deeply relaxing, and allows us to understand your skin before considering more active treatments. It leaves your skin in the best possible condition to benefit from more intensive treatments in the future.
